Research on Weather Related Disasters due to Energy and Services

Bangladesh's energy sector is jeopardized by climate change and systemic inefficiencies, compromising energy security and affordability with severe implications for rural electrification and economic stability. Climate-related challenges such as tropical cyclones, floods, and rising temperatures, adversely affect power infrastructure, raising demand while potentially diminishing plant efficiency and increasing transmission losses. Sea-level rise exacerbates these issues by elevating river salinity, leading to corrosion in coastal power facilities.
